The YN568EX-II can operate as a remote (slave) flash to many different master types, including another YN568EX-II, a Canon 580EX-II, ST-E2, 70D, 60D, 600D plus others (Sc mode), or Nikon SB-910, SB-900, SB-800, SB-700, SU-800 and several camera models such as the D700, D800 etc. (Sn mode).

There are four remote operating modes:
• Sc (Canon ETTL Remote)
• Sn (Nikon iTTL Remote)
• S1 (optical slave – manual power – triggered by first flash)
• S2 (optical slave – manual power – ignores TTL pre-flash – triggered by second flash)
To enter remote (slave) mode hold the zoom button for two seconds until the ‘oF’ begins flashing, then press the right button to sequence through the Sc, Sn, S1 & S2 until you reach the required mode, then press OK to select.
In Sc and Sn mode the slave will operate as ETTL / iTTL as commanded by the master flash and no further setup is required.
In S1 & S2 modes the YN568EX-II power should be set manually using the up/down, left/right buttons.
Set the Slave Channel (Sc/Sn mode only)
Press the zoom button (repeat if required) until the Ch is flashing then use the left/right buttons to select the required channel then press the Ok button. The slave channel should match the channel on the master flash or the slave will not be triggered.
Set the Slave Group (Sc/Sn mode only)
To set the slave mode group press the zoom button (repeat if required) until the A/B/C is flashing then use the left/right button to select the required group then press OK.
To Exit Remote (slave) Mode
Hold the zoom button for 2 seconds until the ‘on’ begins flashing, then use the left button to change to ‘oF’ then press OK.
